Boirche scores again at Dundalk
Dundalk specialist Banna Boirche record his sixth success at the track, and fifth this season, when getting up close home to take the mile handicap. Anam Chara made a bold bid from the front, under Joseph O'Brien, and looked to have them all in trouble early in the straight.
Banna Boirche, who was held up by Shane Foley, emerged as a threat at the furlong pole, however, and just wore down his rival for a neck success.
"It was a good fast pace and a true run race. He has improved all season and loves it around here," said winning trainer Mick Halford.
"He'll go to Dubai in January. He's entitled to go out there. Six, seven or a mile it's no difference to him.
"Shane gave him a lovely ride as he's not the easiest to settle. They went a hell of a good gallop and I'd say that was a good race."
