Boher Cailin (10/3) made all for Rachael Blackmore in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares’ Maiden Hurdle, keeping on well in the straight to beat Chebery (14/1) by three lengths. Moonlight Symphony (12/1) was back in third while the 4/7 favourite Elizabeth J was eased before being pulled up before the third-last flight of hurdles.
The winning daughter of Mahler had won her only point-to-point at Turtulla in March for Co. Kilkenny handler Ian Andrew Power (not to be confused with the jockey of today’s runner-up).
Winning trainer Henry de Bromhead said: "I'm delighted with her and Ian Power (handler) has done nearly all the work with her.
"She won her point-to-point well, she has won that well and she is a nice mare. Martin (Keating, owner) wants to sell her and she couldn't do any more than she did there and is a lovely mare.
"She'll improve plenty for the run, it was super by Rachael and I'm delighted to get it for Martin."
