Blue Soul completed a 267/1 treble for trainer Ger Lyons at Dundalk this evening when taking the William Hill Top Price Guarantee Handicap at the rewarding odds of 25/1.
The Blue Point filly, owned and bred by Declan Landy, was adding to a Tipperary success this summer and showed a great attitude under pressure in the closing stages.
There were plenty of the ten runners still in contention spread right across the track a furlong out and Nathan Crosse’s mount dug deep at the business end to beat Hightimeyouwon by half a length with the front-running Punk Poet the same distance further back in third.
Lyons’ brother and assistant Shane said, “She did it (career-best effort) and we are delighted.
"Most importantly, we are delighted for Declan Landy. He's enthusiastic, he's a stalwart of the yard and he has had all the faith in this filly.
"She has just been chinned all the time and the handicapper has been doing what he has to do.
"That will be her last race of the year because there is nothing left, and it is grand to get another win on her belt.
"Declan is down in Cashel Palace (Hotel) getting an award for Captain Guinness and a nice surprise for that to come in for him. It will make his night.
"It has been a great night for the yard."
Lyons was adding to earlier wins with Misappropriation and Sakti who landed the Listed Cooley Stakes.
