Rachael Blackmore completed a Kilbeggan double at odds of over 44/1 when Glenwood Forever won the Belvedere House, Gardens & Park Handicap Chase for the Paul Gilligan yard.
Blackmore had recently achieved a similar feat at Tramore and here Glenwood Forever led travelling well two out, he was ridden before the last and stayed on well to see off Down Under by three lengths.
"That's grand to get. He's a grand horse on good ground and did the business today," said Gilligan.
"The syndicate (the Five G's grouping) are local lads from Tullamore. They are with me a good while and stood by me in times when others didn't.
"We'll see how he is. He might turn out again on Sunday (at Killarney)."
Blackmore's earlier win was on Jaime Sommers for Michael Bowe.
The Stewards requested a report from Paul John Gilligan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Glenwood For Ever placed first, as compared with it's recent form. The trainer reported that his charge had disappointed on his previous run on heavy ground and felt that today's drying ground conditions had brought about the improved performance. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
The Stewards fined Paul John Gilligan, €350 for failing to lodge a passport in respect of winning horse Glenwood For Ever, in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(vi). Written assurance was given by or on behalf of the Trainer, that the Passport would be forwarded to Horse Racing Ireland within the next 3 working days for verification with the markings and microchip number taken by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.
