Not for the first time a Paddy Twomey newcomer created a buzz in the early markets, and not for the first time either one from the County Tipperary outfit delivered, as Editiorial got there just in time in the Boyle Bingo Irish EBF Median Auction Maiden (Plus 10 Race).
The win for the Bated Breath colt brought up a Dundalk double for Wayne Lordan, as he was on the mark half-an-hour earlier aboard Beach Bar for Richard O'Brien. Editorial tumbled in price from around 20/1 earlier, into a returned 3/1 second favourite.
However, in the seven furlong event, Editorial dwelt, and he was soon racing in mid-division.
Pushed along three furlongs out, the winner was ridden to get closer in fifth on the outer two furlongs out.
Editorial then kept on well inside the final furlong to lead close home for a neck victory over Irish Minister
The favourite, Havana Go was two and a quarter lengths back in third.
"He's a nice horse and I felt he was ready to have a run. It looked a nice place to start," said Twomey.
"He got left in the gate and was green in the race so I'd imagine he'll come forward a good bit from it. I haven't done a lot with him."
