Biddy The Boss came from a seemingly impossible position to get up in the mares' bumper at Fairyhouse.

From well back in sixth passing the two pole, she sprouted wings and flew home to catch clear leader Moonlight Escape (8/1) to win by half a length. Betsy Boots was another four lengths away in third at 7/1.

Gavin Cromwell said of the 15/8 favourite: "The last thing I said to him was keep it simple. I was cursing Jamie (Codd)! When she got to the front she pricked her ears.

“It was very impressive the way she quickened. Where from here I'm not sure, we'll look and see if there is a mares' winners' race.

“The mare that beat her the first day in Tramore (Classic Theatre) went and won a maiden hurdle and Henry de Bromhead thinks a bit of her.”
