Berry gets Gap home
Fran Berry got a good tune from Gap Of Dunloe to claim the ten furlong handicap at Dundalk.
Charles O'Brien 's colt was held up in the early stages before being produced with a challenge on the outside at the furlong pole.
The son of Hurricane Run got to the front inside the final furlong and was always just doing enough to see off the challenge of Coppers by half a length.
The winner had attracted some support this morning, 12/1 into 7/1, before being sent off a 10/1 shot on course. Mokama was the gamble of the race, backed from 7/1 into 10/3 on course, but could only finish ninth while 9/4f Summer Glow was a place behind.
"They went a good gallop. He was drawn out wide but it brought his stamina into play," said Berry afterwards.
"He ran well in the north last time and it's good to get a winner with him."
There was one lucky winner of the jackpot at Dundalk tonight, who took home €17,131.50.
