Ameilya trained by James Barrett for his wife Orla, was a 16/1 winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Fillies Maiden.
Sixth behind subsequent Royal Ascot winner Snellen on her only juvenile start, she had plenty to do in seventh two furlongs out but stayed on strongly under Seamie Heffernan to collar odds-on favourite Dollerina in the closing stages.
The latter dropped to third near the line as Bint Al Dandy claimed second spot, a length and a quarter off the winner.
Barrett, leading up the daughter of Land Force, said: “She ran in Limerick last year and the ground was probably a little bit too quick for her. She got hurt after that and I left her alone as she’s a big raw filly.
“I always felt that she wanted a bit further. I said to Seamie to be sympathetic on her first run of the season and she came home well.
“I think she’s a filly that can get black type.”
