Apache Outlaw followed up a win over seven furlongs at Dundalk in December when dropping down to six to land the Sky Bet Match5 Handicap.

The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding travelled well to challenge under two furlongs out and was ridden out by Adam Caffrey in the final 150 yards to beat Inishmot Prince by half-a-length with Collective Power the same distance further away in third.

The son of Churchill joined the Lusk trainer last summer having won a maiden for Joseph O’Brien and held a career high rating of 100 as a juvenile.

McGuinness said, “It is not easy to win these sprints off that weight. We gave him a break after he won here the last day, and we knew he had improved a good bit through the winter for a little bit of a break.

"We are thinking we might make an entry for him in Lingfield next week, we are sending a few down there next week. He could be on the way and that track could suit him.

"We have horses going to Newcastle next week as well."
