Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Awtaad's half-sister Aneen impressively got off the mark in the opening seven furlong fillies' maiden at the Curragh.

Chris Hayes had her in touch on the outer as Asking and Feathery took the 25 runners along.

She was nudged along by Hayes coming to the final quarter of a mile and she came with her run to tackle Asking outside the furlong pole.

She swept to the front in the final furlong and quickened away to score by four and a quarter lengths.

Kevin Prendergast 's filly justified 5/2 favouritism in beating Petticoat (4/1). Feathery was a further half a length away in third at 12/1.

“She's a nice filly and I've always said I hold her in high regard,” Chris Hayes said.

“She was entitled to win it and it didn't surprise me how far she won.

“She'll have a little rest now and she might even get into the Madrid!”

Her half-brother Awtaad started his season with a win in the Madrid Handicap.

Aneen had taken fourth on debut in a maiden at Leopardstown over Irish Champions Weekend.
