Amangani stepped up on a debut third at Gowran Park to land the juvenile fillies' maiden over seven furlongs in Punchestown.

Joseph O'Brien 's No Nay Never filly broke well from stall nine and soon led under Dylan Browne McMonagle. Ryan Moore, on the favourite Mint Candy was eager to get involved and they pressed the leader from an early stage.

On the approach to the straight, Amangani held a narrow advantage but Mint Candy soon came off the bridle in her pursuit.

Browne McMonagle rode his mount for more rounding the home bend and although she drifted left approaching the final furlong, she found generously in the final 150 yards to sweep home by two lengths at 'Burlington Bertie 100/30'.

The placed horses - runner-up Joyful Princess (15/2) and third-placed Beyond Dreams (20/1) - both finished nicely and are horses for the 'notebook'.

Stable representative Sean Corby said: “That was good. She obviously had a nice first run a couple of weeks ago and came forward plenty from it.

“She won nicely, she still looked green in front but looked like she was always holding them.

“Dylan said it was obviously her first time in front and she was just having a look around. He said every time they got to him he felt that she was pulling out enough.

“The experience there of making the running will probably do her plenty of good.”

She turned around Gowran Park form with Mint Candy who was a place, and a length and three-parts, in front of her in second that day.
