Pat Flynn's Accessory got his first career victory when holding on in the concluding mile handicap.

He made all from stall five but faced a stiff challenge in the closings stags as both Men Of Dreams and Darkened cranked up their efforts.

The line came in time as Accessory, the 10/3f from 5/1, took the honours by a head from 50/1 shot Men Of Dreams. Darkened was just a neck back in third at 9/2 from 7/1.

Jockey Mikey Sheehy, who rode his first double, said: "It has been a great day and I'd like to thank everybody who is supporting me as without them I wouldn't be riding winners.

"He (Accessory) has been consistent on all his runs and I think the first-time blinkers sharpened him up a lot. He had to battle as there were horses on my tail the whole way up the straight and in fairness to him he toughed it out well.

"Hopefully that'll have given him confidence to go on and win again."

Sheehy booted home his first Listed winner on Queenship in the Navigation Stakes on this card.

The Stewards interviewed D.W. O'Connor, rider of Men Of Dreams, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence D.W. O'Connor stated that his mount was hanging badly and it was a long way up the straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.W. O'Connor was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.W. O'Connor for one raceday.
