Monument Valley (8/15) delivered with the minimum of fuss in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Ballinrobe.
Wayne Lordan was soon in front on the Galileo colt, and his main market rival and eventual second Royal Free Hotel was bustled along to try and keep tabs from some way out.
It was a futile chase for the filly and Ballydoyle’s Monument Valley went away from over a furlong out to score by four and three parts of a length.
“He’s a strong stayer,” reported winning rider Wayne Lordan.
“He goes a good even gallop and he keeps going well.”
The Niarchos family bred and part-owned three-year-old was shedding his maiden tag at the fifth time of asking and previously finished runner-up behind Derby hero Serpentine.
The Stewards informed John C. McConnell, trainer that Donttellthewomen would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
