25th time lucky for Takasima
Takasima for trainer Sean Treacy and jockey Conor Hoban didn't let the continuing rain at the Curragh stop her, as she made all to score in the Liam Browne Lifetime Achievement in Racing Handicap.
The ex-John Oxx trained filly by Daylami, was recording her first career victory on her twenty fifth start here. This was her nineteenth start for Treacy who has his six horses in good form at present after winning with Hollymount King last Friday at Gowran.
The winner has put in some good efforts in defeat this season having finished under a length fourth to Leah Claire at Roscommon when attempting make all in May and just over a length third to Beliar at Tramore last month when again attempting to make all.
With Conor Hoban in the saddle for the first time today, the front running tactics finally worked as she was clear three furlongs out and when ridden over a furlong from home she kept on strongly to score by five lengths at the line. Crying Aloud who was backed from 12's into 8's, finished second for Jim Gorman and Ben Curtis while the 3/1 favourite Arminta was ten lengths back in third.
Afterwards winning trainer Sean Treacy said: "I'm delighted she finally got her head in front. She has plenty of ability. I only have six horses in training and that's my second winner in just over a week.
"She may go to Galway now for another Handicap."
