Eventual second Abstraction traded at 1.03 in running on Betfair, but Colin Keane didn't panic as he brought up a Cork double on Ardhoomey (7/4 favourite) in the Racing Again June 12th Race.
Abstraction put it up to his rivals from the front, and Keane, successful in the first in his Qatar Racing role on Spy Ring pushed Ardhoomey in pursuit from over a furlong out.
Abstraction edged right inside the final hundred yards and Ardhoomey, completing a hat-trick, got there in the closing stages to win by half a length.
"Colin gave him a brilliant ride and is riding really well. For obvious reasons with his wind, he (Keane) left him go through the gears and the horse is learning and getting more experience - that was his best performance," said winning trainer, Ger Lyons' brother Shane.
"He was initially entered for the Greenlands Stakes but that will be for next year. It's onwards and upwards and we've an awful lot to look forward to with him. We'll have a bit of fun with this lad but he needs that ground."
Ardhoomey clocked a very swift 57.43 seconds for the five furlongs.
