He may have looked a bit vulnerable going to the last but the step-up to two and a half miles done Aupcharlie the world of good. Aupcharlie then crossed the line three and a quarter lengths to the good from Whispering Hills in the I.T.B.A. Expo 2012 Maiden Hurdle at Leopardstown.

He is a nice horse. The ground might have been a bit quick for him today but he did ok. He is a novice for the season and there are plenty of three mile novice hurdle races coming up for him now. He won't run on ground as quick as that again. The plan was to go to Galway but the novice there is over two and a half miles and he wants every inch of three miles.

We're a long time waiting for that. He's had lots of problems but he's brand new now,. He stays well. We might go for a winners of one or he could run in a stayers hurdle at Galway. He'll probably have to run in a handicap to get a trip.

Whispering Hills was on the wrong side of a photo finish the last day and while he is an honest horse, he is a big laid back oul' devil!
