We are in the mix for six now!. We got him about three years ago and he was very sick when we got him. He won a few for us in between times but he used to bleed. We used to call him 'Trigger the frigger' but now we call him 'The Triggernator!. We sweeten him up at home and we don't gallop him and he is really fat. We always tried to work the weight off him and that was going against him. We were probably working him too hard but now we just brought him in after a break and the wee fella Tubbs rides him and we don't gallop him and we took him to the beach a couple of times. We let him run 70 percent fit at Tipperary and he got in front and just from then he has snowballed. He won at Kilbeggan then and after Kilbeggan he is transformed and just a different horse - he thinks he owns the yard. He is walking around with a swagger and winning more impressively every time. We don't know where it will stop to be honest. We take him home and he doesn't miss a nut. It used to be when we ran him he used to be slow at his food and he is a greedy horse so you knew that he was feeling the effects. He'll not miss a nut now and he is roaring at you. I do nothing with him at home - a few days in the field and a couple of days light canter. He is heavier today than he was at Galway, he's heavier today than he even was going to Tipperary. He's thriving and just improving. If he's in the same form going home today we'll have a look, it might be two weeks or it might be three weeks. You might nev

I'm over the moon — delighted. We did fancy him coming here. The handicapper gave him 12lb for the last day but we thought it was fair as every race he has improved. My son 'Tubs' had him spot on for today, he rides him at home and he told me he was ready to rock!. We took a chance, Galway wasn't the plan to be honest. It was just that he won so impressively at Limerick and was getting 12lb so I said 'why not' and stuck him in. That's four wins in under four weeks, it's amazing. I had horses won a sequence before and then we've given them a break and sometimes you can't get them back. When he's in good form like that I might just give him a week or two and maybe try and go for the five. We'll strike while the iron is hot as he's eleven. You could give him a break and he could come back and never be the same. We'll play it by ear, get today over and see how it goes. (My son) Tiernan couldn't come today as he's busy with the kitchen and Tubs is outside watching through the hedge. It's a pity because he's Sean Flanagan's ride but he broke his sternum the other day. He's turned the horse inside out and got a good tune out of him. He's a big part of it. We needed the split there as he had a rough enough passage and ran keen the whole way. He never really got any light at any of his hurdles. It looked like we were in trouble turning in but Mark said once he got the split he knew he was going to win. It's some achievement to win four-in-a-row in Ireland, it's hard to do, espec

He was brave and did it well. Sean was excellent on him and he never missed a beat. I thought he was beat turning for home, but Sean switched him to the inside and he stayed on well after the last,. He’s looking amazing at the minute and when he hits a bit of form he seems to keep it. His last four runs have been very good. Just before the lockdown, the horses weren’t quite right but they are healthier now and starting to run to form. He’s in again at Gowran and Limerick during the week but he doesn’t usually bounce back that well running quick. We’ll see how he is after that. He was four and a half kilos heavier today than he was when he won at Tipperary, so I was thinking he was getting too fat. I don’t train him too hard — I made that mistake before. When you train him hard and try to gallop the weight off him then he goes back ways.

he was very disappointing the last day over in England when I thought he’d have won - Dickie Johnson (British Champion Jockey hit the front far too soon! He just needed to be produced late today and I’m delighted. He’s probably not much better than (88 rated) that but we’ll look for another wee chase now and it was a long journey down. I didn’t ride him myself because I’m struggling a wee bit as I’m busy with work and have five horses for the summer. Trying to diet was killing me a bit but I’ll still ride (stablemate) See Double You before the end of the year. I run a kitchen business - Krafty Kitchens & Bedrooms so I’m kept busy - it took me six and a half hours to come down today!
