He did it well, and you could see he was very relaxed during the race. He got a bit tired after the last but I'm happy to have that over with,. We'll look at the Hattons Grace now. Before I didn't like running him again too soon but he's got so relaxed at home that he's taking nothing out of himself. We took him away for a few gallops before today but he didn't exert himself too much. We will not be targeting him specifically at Cheltenham, and will go for all the Grade 1's like Leopardstown at Christmas and the Irish Champion back there.

All he wants is a properly run race and he got that today,. That's all we wanted all season. The Fighting Fifth they absolutely walked and sprinted for three furlongs. He's absolutely brilliant to jump - the fastest jumper I've ever had. You could see in the parade ring that he's so calm and takes everything really easy. Keith, who rides him out, said that he was happier with him today than at any stage of the season. Hopefully we'll get him in the same form for Cheltenham. My only concern for Cheltenham would be good ground. He does handle good ground but might need a bit further on it, though he'll take his chance. He's a horse that doesn't take much work at home and it's all systems go now.

That makes up for the last day. We were never going to beat Go Native the last day as it turned into a three furlong sprint. We will probably come back here for the Irish Champion Hurdle and then on to Cheltenham. My only concern about Cheltenham would be the ground as he probably needs two and half miles on good ground. Davy had a plan B today and he told us it was never going to turn out like it did in Newcastle. He wasn't doing a whole lot out in front today. He jumps really well and jumps well under pressure.

He was impressive there. If we weren't going to beat Hurricane Fly today we never were. My lad doesn't take a lot of work to get him right. I was delighted with the pace of the race and he loves coming between horses. He's entered in the Fighting Fifth and that's in two weeks time which is a problem. If he doesn't go there we'll wait and run him over the Christmas.

He's definitely the best horse I've ever trained. Davy [Russell] wanted something to aim at so he dropped him back and I didn't really feel too confident about it but he really does love to battle. Next year the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle is the obvious target. We'll give him a break now. I've never won a champion hurdle before so I'm not too sure as to what route to go but he'll more than likely stay at home before he heads for Cheltenham.

That was a great performance it was probably my own fault that he got beaten in Thurles the last day he was only back from Cheltenham 4 days in hindsight we probably shouldn't have run him. As regards plans for him everything will be geared towards next year and tip away for the rest of this year and take on the big boys next season.
