Ballinrobe Tue, 31st May, 2016 (1st)
It was a lovely pot to win - fair play to Ballinrobe. He ran well in Punchestown the last day and he is a summer horse. It would be ideal if we could get something similar for him before Galway, but I haven't really looked at the calendar,.

He was a bit inexperienced at Listowel. His jumping probably cost him. He was the right side of the handicapper in Listowel so we fancied him, but I was a bit worried about his weight today as it was a big ask. His jumping today was much better. I actually think he is more of a two and a half miler than a three miler. That's my first winner for JP McManus. He only bought him two and a half weeks ago, but in fairness his previous owners are here now and are delighted he won.

He made just one mistake but was more or less foot perfect. He stays two and a half miles very well. Good ground is the key to him, and we'll put him away over the winter.
