I’m delighted. It’s the first time all year he’s had his ground. He did have a bad run in the Curragh but his bloods came back very wrong and in Ascot he couldn’t handle the ground. Gary said he battled really well but was a bit ring rusty at the start. A mile is no problem as he’s relaxing in his races and is very rideable. It took him a couple of strides longer to hit top gear than Gary thought but he battled back. It was a bit scary. I don’t think there is anything more for him here so we’ll put him away and look at mile races next year. His brain is really maturing and I’m delighted with him.

I was nearly not running him as he's in the Sales and now I'm not sure if he'll go to the Sales! We have been riding him wrong until Limerick as once he's out in front he drops the bit and relaxes.
