I'm delighted to get that. He hadn't been running too well up until this and we gave him a bit of a break after his last run and freshened him up. He had a few niggly problems, nothing serious, but just things that were holding him up a little bit. We decided to just take a pull and give him a couple of weeks off. It seems to have worked. We'll see where we go from here. There is a race at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday, a 2m 6f handicap hurdle, and there are a couple of options over in Aintree. The ground will very much dictate where he will go. He does want an ease in it.

He was coming back from a disappointing campaign over fences. He just didn't take to them at all. He'd a nice run over hurdles the last day, and seemed to come on from it. He loves heavy ground. He won't get into the race at Cheltenham but we'll find something for him.

That's my first winner for Mr McManus and he's out of Rua Lass which was my first winner as a public trainer, so it's great on both counts,.

He had a nice run the first day on ground that was probably a touch quick for him. He was kind of on his head from the word go the last day but he ran well only beaten ten lengths. I was confident enough coming here today but I thought on paper it was a decent enough bumper and I'd have been happy if he'd been placed. He's done it well though and I think he'll be a nice horse. All of his family have taken time. Rua Lass (dam) who we have fond memories of (first winner as a public trainer) was the one that got me going and I could do with something like her at the moment to be honest about it.
