He's a machine for his age. I had him in the Galway Blazers, but we bypassed that to come here. He's been a model of consistency. The rain came at the right time. If there had been no rain he wouldn't have run. He won the Pertemps qualifier at Leopardstown one year [in 2012] and missed going to Cheltenham by 3lbs and it was then we decided to go chasing with him. He'll run in the Kerry National if he gets in and the Paddy Power at Leopardstown over Christmas. If all goes to plan he'll have the Irish National as his long-term target.

He's been a great old servant and is worth his weight in gold. He hasn't run over fences since the Fairyhouse Easter meeting last year. He had joint trouble and he was so good over hurdles that we kept him at it. He dropped 6lb over fences over the winter and deserved the win today. He's a very clear winded horse.

He'd a great run the last day at Fairyhouse, although the two and a half miles was on the short side. The plan was to run here once he came out of that okay and qualify for Cheltenham. He looked a million dollars today, and I wasn't afraid of the ground. The bit of rain last night meant it wasn't too sticky. Ian gave him a great ride. The original plan was to go back chasing but I've never had a runner at Cheltenham before so hopefully he'll get in and the ground won't be too fast. I'd also like to thank the owner John Prunty who is a great supporter of mine, and has had horses with me for a good few years.

He have been waiting for three miles on better ground all season and they made all the difference today. He ran no race at all the last day. We put blinkers on him today just to sharpen him up. We might have a look at Killarney next for him.
