It would have suited me if they were going a bit quicker but it was the right race for him, he was 5/1 on and did what he had to do. He's the best one (in the staying division). I’m delighted with him, and hopefully he’ll go for the Saval Beg (at Leopardstown on May 25) which is what we usually do and then on to Ascot. He finishes out very well when he gets into his tempo and he gallops up the hill. Ryan said he was very relaxed and moved very well. They would be the two things that you would love to hear.

I'm delighted with him. We know he stays and handles soft ground. He went there strong today,. His options would be the Melbourne Cup or the Arc. He'd be very comfortable over a mile-and-a-half if there is an ease in the ground. Ryan let him relax. He moved up just to move up a little bit and he locked on to him. He just said he kicked into gear and he didn't want to disappoint him then.

You would have to be delighted with that, and he couldn't really have done any more. There is a bit more time this year (before Ascot). Ryan said he was fine on the ground. He handles soft ground but the ground here is beautiful. When he goes up in trip they will be going that bit easier. Obviously if everything is well we will look at Ascot next, and he could follow a similar path to last year.

I'm delighted with that - it was lovely. He was just ready to start back so I was a bit worried but he settled lovely and you'd have to be delighted. He'll come back here first and we'll take it a step at a time with him.

He was very impressive here the last day. I didn't say anything to Joseph but they went hard up front and he put him asleep. He sneaked through lovely and is a very good stayer. He got the trip really well and travelled very strongly. When Joseph said go he quickened up very well. It's unusual for a horse that stays that well to have that kind of class. He's a very exciting horse. We may have a look at the two-mile race at Ascot (the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup next month) with him.

he did what he was entitled to do and kept it simple. He won snug and will be better when he steps up in trip - he didn't have to improve to win today. He definitely could have a run before the Leger but it's not a necessity. He's still a lightly raced, inexperienced horse and has the prospect of making a very nice stayer.

He's a lovely horse. He'd a nice run first time out but I was surprised with how green he was next time at Naas where the penny didn't drop until the last 100 yards. Back over a mile suited him today. He's a big, immature horse and has always sweated a lot but he doesn't get flustered or panic and it doesn't seem to affect him.
