Handassa at last began to build on the promise of her eyecatching debut victory last back-end when she took the feature Irish Stallion Farms EBF Garnet Stakes at NaasSun 16th Oct
A late gamble on Handassa (11/2 into 7/2 favourite) paid dividends for her supporters as she stayed on best to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Listed Garnet Stakes providing her trainer Kevin Prendergast and her rider Declan McDonagh with a double for the afternoon.

Kevin Prendergast and Hamdan Al Maktoum look to have a very promising filly on their hands following Handassa's impressive debut success at the CurraghMon 11th Oct
Handassa (4/1 this morning into 13/8 favourite) justified the confidence of her backers at the first time of asking by impressively taking the TRI Equestrian European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden in the hands of Declan McDonogh at the Curragh.

She loves easy ground. She ran well at Gowran last time out when the ground was like the road although the official description was good to yielding. She flew up the hill today. She was only beaten five lengths in the 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on fast ground which she doesn't like. I don't know whether she will stay in training now, it's up to the boss (her owner, Hamdan Al Maktoum). He usually doesn't keep them on the go.

She is nice and she handled the ground well. She raced very lazy but once I got upsides Kevin (Manning on Deire Na Sli) I gave her a flick and she picked up well. She has a good attitude, she is boom-proof - a lovely filly. I thought she looked a bit big in the parade ring and that she might need it but she kept going well all the way to the line.
