That's my biggest win and the plan from 12 months ago was to run in the amateur handicap on Monday and this race on Saturday. Nothing went right on Monday and it was just a disaster and I went home sick. But it was no one's fault and Jamie (Codd) looked after the horse and that's what you get when you get the best; when things go wrong they look after them. There is nobody better off a light weight than Phillip (Enright) and he is a jockey always trying for you. There were no stalls tonight and the plan was to jump off good and handy and Philip was great on him all the way. He is one of the toughest horses in training and I'm very grateful to the owners for buying him. The Donohues have been great and he was bought as a replacement for Lagostovegas and he's not a bad replacement. He was beaten seven and a half lengths on Monday; we lost four lengths coming out of the stalls and he was last for a horse who needs to be prominent. Jamie said to run him again if he gets the ground at the end of the week, and said 'I hate to say it, but he did a lovely bit of work for you during the week!'

I'm delighted. We made a plan last year when Jamie Codd got off him and said he'd a right shot in the big amateur handicap off the low 80s,. He had real consistent form but never put his head in front. The last day we really wanted to ride him aggressively but it didn't happen as there was a runaway in the race. That was the instructions today, get him out hard. We lucky we didn't get into the amateur race as it was a competitive heat. We were off a nice weight today and we thought we know it know, this is the plan. It's great to get a winner here. He's tough, he's the most genuine horse in training, the blinkers just help him travel as he's lazy.

I'm delighted for the lads (Martin Donohue, owner) as they gladly bought him from John Halley and he is a grand horse. Everyday he goes out he runs his race and you'd like going racing because you know you've a chance. He's tough and the good thing about him is he can run all year round and he's a horse we'll aim for the amateur handicap at Galway next year. He had one run for Ballydoyle but was a backward and lazy type. He is actually very genuine but we put the blinkers on him to help him.
