Every rain drop of rain that falls you would be a bit worried as he handles it as quick as it gets. He gets a free ticket to the Galway Plate but it is unlikely he will run as it will be too well watered, although the race would be ideal for him. Jody McGarvey (won this race on Golden Kite last year) is injured but Johnny is the new kid on the block and he gave him a super ride. It was poetry in motion until the last.

After his run at Mallow this was always the plan. He has been a super horse for us. He won his point-to-point at Inch on his first start as a five-year-old and he has won ten times now, including three Nationals. He is owned by a gentleman (Anthony Calnan) who is in the game for the long haul and I'm delighted for him. I have a small operation now and this win is huge for us. I have just three in for the summer and I own the other two. Jody was excellent on him. He gave him a super ride at Mallow and he was unlucky not to win there. We will let the dust settle now before we decide what to do.

That was a nice win on ground that was far from what he would want. I knew he would run well as he runs well fresh. Declan gave him a lovely ride taking seven pounds off. He has put in some great performances especially over fences and his heart is bigger than himself. I'm thrilled for his owner Anthony Calnan who has been very patient with him. He'll probably go to Listowel now.

I never won this race as a jockey myself but it is brilliant to win as a trainer!. Shane gave the horse an outstanding ride and the horse would burst his heart trying for you. He was unlucky at Listowel in the Kerry National where he was unlucky not to be brought down but his rider Brian O'Connell minded him afterwards and brought us back the horse in one piece. We'll enjoy this day and see about plans then. Good ground is the key to him but his heart is bigger than himself so Aintree fences may be too big for him longterm. He is owned by a gentleman, Anthony Calnan, a doctor from Bandon.

Brian gave him a great ride. The horse is a gentleman and the owner is a gentleman also,. He's a dying breed amongst owners. He let's you concentrate on doing the job and doing best by the horse. This horse has been a great servant from day one. He's an easy horse to train. It's a great success. Things have been quiet during the summer and it's nice to get a big one. He has an entry in the Galway Plate but today was the day and we'll see how he comes out of this.

He is a real trier. I was a bit concerned about the two mile six around a sharp track like that. He loves the fast ground and that is the key to him. We'll keep going for the summer. That's Brian's first winner for me.

He's good and tough, he looked like he was cantering after 3 out but he slipped and looked beaten but he got a great ride from Shane and he's very game. He will have a little holiday now to freshen him up and there should be still plenty of fast ground for him then.

He did it well and I'm very happy with him. It was a great ride from Shane,. He looked after him at Kilbeggan after he got stopped a few times and it's paid dividends. He's a chaser and is still a novice over fences. Hopefully we'll have good fun with him over the summer and we'll mix it with him. Credit to the owner who is a patient man. There is only one time he has insisted with him and that was to come here.
