on the road I was touch and go whether I was going to keep coming as she needed rain but luckily they had a few showers before racing. Simon said there was just about enough juice in the ground for her. She was flat out for the first circuit and she wouldn’t want it any quicker. They went plenty fast enough in front and she stays really well.

Paddy gets on really well with her, he was second on her at Leopardstown last year, and he has a really good understanding of her. The ground the last day in Naas was just that little bit heavier on the chase track and she struggled a little bit. I was worried today as I thought it might still be on the soft side for her but he rode her plenty wide and she loved it. He gave her a great ride. I'm delighted for John Leckey who is a huge supporter of the yard. It's great to get him another winner. We might even look at putting her in foal down the line and running away for the year. She's a lovely mare to have and she's been great. She could also revert back over hurdles and we'll probably keep her going into the summer.

she won a maiden hurdle back in the summer and then had disappointed us a few times. She lost her confidence over fences and Annette that rides her out at home and looks after her has done a super job. We’ve done a good bit of schooling over hurdles with her just to get her confidence back. The plan was to ride her handy coming here today and then when I thought there was so much pace in the race I said to Sean going out to take your time and try and get a little bit of confidence and get her coming home well. That might get her into some of the good mares’ handicap chases later in the year.
