He deserved to win a good pot on the Flat and he came from a long way back in the Cesarewitch. He’s held his form well and the plan was to be a bit closer to the pace today,. He’s very high over hurdles and I presume he’ll have a crack at another chase somewhere. We’ll probably freshen him up and find something around Christmas time. He’s a bit cowardly over fences, and he shows a lot of class on the Flat that he doesn’t show over jumps. I thought he had a big chance at Newbury a few years ago and he was gone after the first.

In the stand I couldn't see him as they were racing behind the stalls. When they came out I was looking at the wrong horse so I didn't see him until the last second. Soft ground makes a big difference. They went very quick and he stays well. I'd say they went too quick in front and he is a stayer. He is a moderate jumper - he jumps hurdles but doesn't jump fences. We said we'd give him a run on the flat to sweeten him up and give him something else to think about.
