He got an awful hike for winning in Kilbeggan but he is gutsy and he loves the good ground. There is races for him in Killarney and Galway so we will have a look at those. He is owned by a great bunch of lads (the Winonesoon Syndicate) and they are mainly from my area, the Toomevara, Nenagh area, with a few of them from England as well.

I didn't think he'd win as easy as that. He is an impossible horse to get fit and I even did a fast piece of work over a mile with him this morning or else he would have been a bit stuffy coming here this evening. I had blinkers on him the last day but I don't think he likes them and he travelled sweeter today in the cheekpieces. The winning owners (the Winonesoon Syndicate) are mainly from around my area, the Nenagh, Toomevara area.

It's a long time since he got good ground. He was running on the wrong ground all along but the sun came out for him today. I'm delighted for the owners (the Winonesoon Syndicate). That is their third win with this fellow and they have been with me from the very start. He has an entry at Galway and although his weight will rise after today he still probably won't get in. I think today was his Derby.

He is getting older and wiser, he is very clever. He just needs things to go his way in races. He thrives off racing and he will go for a 3m Handicap Hurdle at Cork on Friday.

He's hard work. I've had him since March and he takes a lot of work to get fit. The step up in trip and the shades made the difference today.
