On his second start for Gordon Elliott having been with the now English-based Val Donoghue, Fool's Wildcat completed a treble for Paul Carberry (earlier successful on the Noel Meade-trained pair Perfect Smile and Aitmatov) by winning the 2011 Five Day Festival Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown.

Catch Me has really blossomed this term and the seven-year-old made it four on the bounce since reappearing last November when justifying odds of 4/9 in the Ladbrokes.com Boyne Hurdle.

Rarely does a horse tie up as dramatically as Clopf did in the Limestone Lad Hurdle but that was hardly surprising given the storm force winds. He had looked certain to score when going on away from the last but Aitmatov (5/2 in the morning into 13/8) picked him off to prevail by a length and a half to complete a double for Noel Meade and Paul Carberry.

That was sweet in so many ways but mainly I'm delighted for the owner John O'Meara who is unwell at the minute. He is one of best friends and hopefully this will cheer him. He'll probably take his chance in the Hatton's Grace now, he's there to be beaten on heavy ground.

I kicked myself that I didn't have him in the three mile hurdle at Leopardstown at Christmas. The ground turned out to be quite good there and it was an awful mistake by me. If he does go to Cheltenham it would be for the World Hurdle but the two and a half miler at Aintree might be more likely. There are also plenty of suitable races for him at home. He is a lot better on better ground.
