He is much improved this summer. He keeps improving and we're delighted with him. He'll probably go for the Cesarewitch now (at Newmarket on October 16th). Another 4Ibs for that will put him on 8st 9Ib. Chris Hayes will ride him and he'll go there with a live chance I hope.

we always thought a lot of Admiral Barry but to be honest, he was becoming a big disappointment for us, having shown good form as a two year old. He never took to hurdling, seemed to hate jumping and we were beginning to run out of time with him so we decided recently to do the direct opposite with him! . We left off the cheek-pieces and blinkers, trained him from a field, where he now lives with a mare who seems to have a completely changed his life - love is a funny thing!. Mikey (Fogarty) gave him a super ride while we may bring the horse back for a Premier Handicap here on Thursday depending on how he comes out of this race - I won't rule out going back hurdling with him some time again but not for the time-being.

There were no hurdles today! It has been a long frustrating wait, he has loads of ability but he is not most eager of horses. We'll keep him on the flat now and we'll look for another handicap and then maybe go for the GPT at Galway. We used run him in cheek pieces, noseband and blinkers but we took everything off today and it seems to have given him a new lease of life.
