Favourite backers had Ruby Walsh to thank after the win of 6/4 'jolly' Twin Plan who survived an early blunder, before winning the Rainbow Communications Handicap Chase at Down Royal today for trainer James Lambe.

Twin Plan was held up in rear but blundered badly at the second fence. Fortunately for supports of the favourite, Walsh isn't one to fall off easily and quickly had the mare back on an even keel, eventually producing her late to lead before the final fence. She eventually ran out a ten lengths winner over Kilcommon Pride

Lambe later said “Ruby said to drop her back in trip and that'll open up more options for her in the future. She was always going well that was the plan to drop her out and do them for speed.”
