So Familiar gained a deserved success when running out a comprehensive winner of the six-furlong nursery at Cork this afternoon.

The Johnny Murtagh trained filly had just been edged out by stable-mate Yolo Again at Naas last time but gained her day in the sun today.

Denis Linehan always had the 9/2 shot to the fore and she kicked for home over a furlong out.

The Zoffany filly soon scooted clear and stayed on strongly in the closing stages as Lady Marengo came through to chase her home, three-and-three-quarter lengths back.

The winning rider said afterwards:- "She had two very good runs recently and she was actually beaten by a filly of ours that we like at Naas the last day.

“We were confident coming here today and she proved us right.

"Next year she'll get further and she has a lot of filling out and strengthening up to do and will be a lovely filly for next year."
