FormscanBy John O'Riordan - The Aidan O'Brien-trained KYPRIOS should win this en route to another bid for the Ascot Gold Cup. The six-year-old won the latter race in 2022 before injury forced him to miss last years renewal. Having finished runner-up in both outings last backend, the colt looked back to his best when easily winning on his reappearance at Navan last month. Yashin, who won this race 12 months ago, faces a much more difficult task with Kyprios in the line-up. To his credit, the Jessica Harrington-trained gelding kept on well when third behind the latter at Navan. He should be fitter here with that run out of the way. Queenstown, who split the pair at Navan, should once again be involved for minor honours.

Delighted with him this year, great to get him back. Ryan gave him a lovely, uncomplicated ride. Wayne (Lordan on Queenstown) set a lovely, even pace and he kept taking him. I couldn't be happier really. When he gets there he doesn't do much and that is the way he is, but he was travelling very easily all the way. Everything is good so far - the plan was to come here, go to Leopardstown (Saval Beg) and go to the Gold Cup. He is a lovely horse to have.

Ben said he improved from Listowel and he'll improve again as he was green enough. He was green enough in the parade ring today as well and I think we'll give him another run in the Eyrefield Stakes,. He has a fancy entry in the Epsom Derby next year and we think a good bit of him. He'll be a better three year old and I just think he'll need another run. The Eyrefield will give him a bit more education and I think he'll need it. Hopefully he will keep going the right way and it's nice to have a horse like him.

The autumn plan would be the Melbourne Cup but he'd have to get up a good bit to get to there,. He stays well and he has to have good ground. We think he likes going left handed. He was stuck wide there and keen all the way. Shane said he had no right to pick up and win like he did. I know it was only a short head but he was always getting there. I genuinely thought he would run very well. He didn't run in the Vintage Crop because of the soft ground. He should probably have been going for the Ladies handicap tonight!

The superscript number on headgear bl2 indicates number of times worn. A plus bl+ indicates more than 10 times where as red background bl1indicates first time.
