Take All a first winner for King
He has improved with every run and we ran him in a bumper this time last year and was weak and didn't handle the ground. We were a bit concerned about the ground, not knowing if he'd handle it or not; his mother (Miss Vickie) won for me years back. We'll see what the handicapper does and he'll probably run next at Christmas. He belongs to Jimmy Cleary and Alan (King) is with me one day a week.

The light weight was a big help to him because he is a narrow horse and it was a great ride from Danny. Everyone thinks he wants three miles but I think a real strong 2m4f is what he wants. I didn't think he'd handle the ground being so heavy but Danny said it was no bother. We'll look for something similar next.

At home he is dour enough on heavy ground but he jarred himself here on the better ground last year so we were happy to run,. He is very consistent, he travelled fierce well for him and I'd say he won a bit snug. I'll leave plans up to the owners and they're having great fun with him. He is owned by a Mayo hotelier Vivian Healy and his brother Liam Healy, who owns a pub in Churchtown. Both are fierce supporters of racing and buy a few horses every year and Jimmy Gordon picked him out a few years ago.

Jumping and staying is his game and certainly the further the better for him and he is a three-miler. He won three point-to-points and we'll be looking for three mile races for him and that ground doesn't bother him. Hopefully we'll find a nice staying handicap for him at some stage.
