A query was raised to consider why Paul & Oliver Cole were running Balearic (IRE) here at Salisbury on going described as Good to Firm, Good in places, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Newmarket on 28 August 2021 on ground with the same official description.
Oliver Cole stated that, in their opinion, the ground at Newmarket had been overwatered and being satisfied with conditions at Salisbury they were happy for Balearic (IRE) to take its chance on this occasion.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately half a furlong out when Lady Reset (GB), placed second, ridden by Mollie Phillips, interfered with Fierospeed (IRE), placed third, ridden by Pat Dobbs.
Phillips was cautioned for careless riding as she had failed to correct Lady Reset (GB) from drifting left- handed, carrying Fierospeed (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, Mollie Phillips reported that Lady Reset (GB), placed second, was denied a clear run 1 furlong out.
