An enquiry was held to consider interference after jumping the final hurdle when the winner, Faivoir (FR), ridden by Harry Skelton, interfered with Witness Protection (IRE), placed second, ridden by James Best.
The interference was found to be accidental as Faivoir (FR) had ducked sharply right- handed as Skelton was in the process of changing his hands to straighten the gelding, causing Best to have to switch Witness Protection (IRE) slightly in order to continue its run.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Torn And Frayed (FR), placed third, lost its right-fore shoe.
