Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
The winner Fortified Bay (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wetherby on 26 December 2022 where the gelding was pulled up.
The Stewards noted the explanation given by the representative of Jennie Candlish that the gelding was suited by heavy Going and had jumped better, on this occasion.
Following the race, Toby Wynne reported that Dragonfruit (GB), which was pulled up, ran flat; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination during routine testing of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
