FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - LOUIESCALL returns to Listowel, after a third placed run here in June. Connections kept the Soldier's Call gelding busy at the Galway festival, and though his second effort didn't match the first in a couple of outings at Ballybrit, there are still grounds for optimism. Granted, Louiescall is the only maiden in this line-up, but as the least experienced he is likely one of those with the most scope for progression. Trainer Harry Kelly is presumably still learning with the youngster. The cheekpieces he had on last time are dispensed with for this assignment, where his prominent racing style can put him right in the firing line come the business end. Others may prefer the tried and tested. To that end previous Listowel winners Ramiro, Dragon Of Malta and Racing Royalty will appeal.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 50-80Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.

Quotes on Ferrybank (GB)
He won one day off 76 and he’s back up to 72 today, that’s his level. He likes Leopardstown and I shouldn’t have run him in the Curragh the last day. They get around him there and keep annoying him so that he’s nothing left. We’ve had a good bit of fun out of him and he’s paying his way. After Ferrybank (GB) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Thu, 20th Jun 2024 1m Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Free Solo (IRE)
Resolute in the finish. We were just waiting for him to land one. He's a very good horse, a very genuine horse. He was going to win one eventually, he always runs his race. He might be a little bit better on the turf with a tiny bit of a dig in the ground, but we're very happy to be able to pick up one with him. They are great owners and are delighted. We had a nice bit of fun with them throughout the year - he was second in Galway and ran a few nice races. A nice, consistent horse and a great, fun horse to have. We'll see whether we give him a break or whether we will run him once more up here, but we'll aim for the turf again with him. After Free Solo (IRE) finished 1st at Dundalk on Fri, 12th Jan 2024 7f Flat Hcap Standard

Quotes on Linger For Longer (IRE)
She’s improving. He was able to get a lead from the two in front which probably made the difference as in the past we were letting her off a bit. Six or seven is her trip and maybe a bit easier ground. Quotes on Eddie G (IRE)
There was a bit of a malfunction here the last day - the stalls didn't open and he banged his head out of the stalls that night. It was no fault of his and he just got a bit upset. At least he put it right tonight. He flew home and I think he could be a nice horse later in the year on grass. Galway men (Taceec Syndicate) own him and he will end up back there at some stage. There is a 0-70 down here next month and we will come back for that and then give him a break. After Eddie G (IRE) finished 1st at Dundalk on Fri, 12th Jan 2024 6f Flat Hcap Standard

Quotes on Mount Ruapehu (IRE)
On his form with John (Grogan) earlier on, he was entitled to do that. He's down a long way in the weights. It was nice to get a win and it is his first run in the lads' colours, they have leased him off John. They are from Thurles and Limerick. He did that well and settled very well. The race worked out perfectly, there were two horses in front of him and Cian was able to slot in behind them. After Mount Ruapehu (IRE) finished 1st at Dundalk on Wed, 31st Jan 2024 6f Flat Hcap Standard

Quotes on Dragon Of Malta (IRE)
He had won well at Galway and, while he didn't run so well at Roscommon, today he was perfect and I had a willing partner up the straight. I had previously ridden Free Solo at the Curragh, he led me and I found a nice run in the straight. I wasn't sure if we had won and Daniel King (denied in a close third on Brave Troop) has a valuable claim and I wasn't sure if he got up on the line. The O'Donnell family are from Co Limerick and not too far from here and I've known them for years, so it is great to ride a winner for them. Thank you to Pat Healy (Listowel committee) and Mark Enright (retired jockey) for organising this and it is great to be here. I spent lots of time as a child hanging around the weigh room wanting to be a jockey and to ride a winner here is a big relief. My mother (from nearby Killarney) is very excited and I'm sure she enjoyed this one!. Unfortunately I have other business commitments today and am at the Sales, but this is brilliant. The horse had good form and Mark (Enright, retired jockey) contacted me to say Oisin was available, so it was a no brainer to use him. I said to my wife that he was beaten turning in, but these good riders just find a way to win and he was fantastic. Oisin and my son Patrick go back a long way from when they went pony racing together, are friends and were also apprenticed together. The horse is owned by a great syndicate and this means an awful lot. After Dragon Of Malta (IRE) finished 1st at Listowel on Tue, 19th Sep 2023 7f Flat Hcap Soft

Quotes on Racing Royalty (GB)
Yeah it was fantastic,. He toughed it out well there. I knew he came out of the Listowel race well. He is an easy horse to train and I'm delighted for everyone involved. Billy said he won a bit snugly in Listowel. He was pulling up a bit at the line. He couldn't do that today though. He really had to knuckle down. We bought him in the July Sales two years ago on the back of being a half-brother to Inventor. We got him home, looked at him and liked him. A few of the lads got involved and we kept a share ourselves. I'm delighted. After Racing Royalty (GB) finished 1st at Curragh on Thu, 12th Oct 2023 7f Flat Hcap Soft to Heavy
