FormscanBy Donal Murphy - Henry de Bromhead fought off suitors from elsewhere, when bringing MOSSY FEN PARK back to his Co Waterford base at Goffs in May. Offered for sale by his then owners Clipper Logistics, the Walk In The Park five-year-old fetched 235,000 pounds, with de Bromhead and Gerry Aherne the successful bidders. The winner of a point-to-point when in the care of Sean Doyle, the well-regarded bay was last seen finishing second in a Grade 2 over flights. Starting off over regulation fences now, he looks the one to beat. Disappointingly pulled up when sent off a 10/1 chance in the Irish National in April, Good Time Jonny is of definite interest with Derek O'Connor aboard, while smart hurdler Yeats Star and the Willie Mullins-trained Billericay Dickie are other leading contenders.

Sam made a good move to nip up the inner before coming down the hill and it could have been the winning and losing of it. It was a brave move but it worked out great for him,. He lost his form a little bit but had an issue after he ran at Limerick last year and it took him a while to get back right. He had a lovely run the last day when he was completely wrong at the weights, but it gave him confidence coming here. I was worried about the ground but it worked out great. Tthere are four involved in the OGB Partnership including Ber (wife) and after he won a bumper we brought him to the sales but couldn't get anyone to buy him. We brought him home and he has now won at the Punchestown festival and has landed a big pot today. I was delighted with that. I didn't think he'd go on that ground, but Paul said he handled it well. For a maiden, I thought he jumped very well and he could go wherever he wants. We'll look at a novice hurdle somewhere and we'll see if Paul thinks he's good enough for a race across the water. I'd like to get another run into him before we go there, if we go there.
