FormscanBy John O'Riordan - From a potentially favourable high draw, KEKE can register the biggest win of his career. Having completed a hat-trick when successful over 6f here last month, the Eddie Lynam-trained four-year-old subsequently ran a huge race when a close up fourth on Champions Weekend. Dropping back to the minimum trip is unlikely to be an issue especially if the forecast rain arrives. Greek Flower, who finished a few places behind the selection in that aforementioned race, has again been done no favours with a low draw. The Johnny Feane-trained filly has the ability to win in this grade but needs some luck. Laugh A Minute, who finished second in last years renewal, shouldn't be discounted under his optimum conditions.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards that at entry have run three or more times under any Rules of Racing, at least one of those runs having been on or after 1st August, 2023 (100 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.

Quotes on The Highway Rat (IRE)
He had a very nice run on the opening day of the season (at the Curragh in March) which we thought was on very unsuitable heavy ground. He was beaten off top-weight and we were delighted, and we thought this was his season. Then he had a setback and we are just getting him out now. We thought he was plenty short for today, but it was just opportunity. He did that well and Billy was delighted with him. It all went straightforward and to plan. After The Highway Rat (IRE) finished 1st at Navan on Sat, 2nd Sep 2023 5f Flat Hcap Yielding

Quotes on Grand City Hall (IRE)
Park Hill Racing wanted a day out at Ascot (for the Shergar Cup) the last day and, apart from the transport cost, it was free entry and we got paid as there was prize money for all runners. Things didn't go right for him though as he became more antsy in the stable yard with every run. He completely missed the break at Ascot and burned himself up in the early part of the race, but the trip seemed to do him well and freshened him up. We knew he was well coming here as we used a blindfold on him at home and it worked. He isn't far off being a five furlongs horse, but this course and distance suits and if the ground stays quick, he'll run at the Curragh in two weeks' time. He could go on the all-weather, but there mightn't be a whole lot for him at Dundalk and he's had a good season, so if we get another run out of him we do, and if we don't we don't.After Grand City Hall (IRE) finished 1st at Cork on Wed, 11th Sep 2024 6f Flat Hcap Good to Firm

He's going the right way and is making up for lost time,. Colin said he's very straightforward, pings the gates. I was lucky to find this race for him, with not so many runners. It ticks another box and gets the second run out of the way. We might go to the drawing board now and make a plan. We'll progress our way up. Quotes on Ostraka (IRE)
We bought this animal in February, and Michael Halford who we bought her off will tell you as well, she has a bad back. This chap from Belgium used to come over to John Oxx 35 years ago and his son is better at it - I tried everybody including chiropractors since we bought her, and that owner has had some patience. It is his first ever horse. Your man Philippe came in and he yanked her back and looked at me and said in a Belgian accent ' that will either kill her or cure her!'. She was 460kg on that day and today she is 495kg. She is a grand filly. It is great to get a winner. We are having a disaster of a year and starting to come right now. Down in grade and they went good and fast which suited her fine. Robbie was good on her, he was nice and patient and when she hit the rising ground she stayed on well. Quotes on Sturlasson (IRE)
I shouldn't have run him the last day and I take the rap for that. I should sat tight a bit longer. His work during the week was spectacular. He skipped along there and he loved it. It was a real professional performance and I'm delighted. We'll see what happens, the lads are saying they might go for the Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap in Royal Ascot on the Friday. He was 90 coming here and, realistically, he probably shouldn't go up for it. Quotes on Harry's Hill (GB)
He's an absolute superstar! He was bought for 12 grand and he has won 130/140 thousand. We thought it wasn't a bad race, but he's super fast out even though I think Rory (Cleary on Navalny) took him on there today. Plum draw in one and Wayne said to me 'I'm letting him roll'. In fairness, the handicapper has given us a chance as he has dropped him a couple of pounds. That obviously helped us - running well without getting there and this time we got there. There's a race in Navan coming up soon over five. He has never run well over six, but I would be half tempted to give him a run in the Bold Lad (at the Curragh). He's never got it before, but it is a big pot and he likes those! After Harry's Hill (GB) finished 1st at Bellewstown on Tue, 27th Aug 2024 5f Flat Hcap Good to Yielding

Quotes on Keke (GB)
That is three in a row and they were all photos so that’s the right way to do it. We have been hitting the bar with a good few seconds this year at the Curragh so it’s nice to get a winner. It’s my favourite track. I’ve been training for Andrew Cohen (Wood Hall Stud) a good while now and we’ve had a bit of luck together. He’s just gradually moved up through the (handicap) grades this year. Billy (Lee) couldn’t ride him today, so we took the 5lb off him. James won five for us on Celtic Revival and has probably ridden about ten winners for us. He’s a good rider and is hard to get now as people are cottoning on to him. He’s nearly as tall as me!. He might get into the Bold Lad but whether he’s good enough for something like that we’ll think about it.After Keke (GB) finished 1st at Curragh on Sat, 10th Aug 2024 6f Flat Hcap Good to Firm

Quotes on Rappell (IRE)
We thought about leaving him off after his last win. I was kicking myself as I had him entered here but went to Cork because it was three-year-old only,. I wanted to run him once here as I thought he was a horse that would suit the place, I'm glad I did now. I think he lost his stick but once they are responding they don't need it. He doesn't kill himself in front by the looks of it, the last furlong looked like coming up the Cheltenham hill!. We might have one more go with him.
