FormscanBy Mark Nunan - 5lb claimer Mikey Sheehy won the valuable mile handicap here on Tuesday and has a chance of landing another big prize on NO SAY EVER. From a small yard, the 5-year-old, who was placed at the festival last year, comes into this in good form after a win at Leopardstown on his penultimate start was followed by a narrow defeat to Morph Speed at the same venue. He‘s better off at the weights, and better drawn, than that rival and can turn the tables. Baby Zeus, bred to stay well and third in last year’s Ulster Derby, should be suited by stepping back up in trip having won a premier handicap over ten furlongs earlier this year at the Curragh. This year’s Ulster Derby winner Iowa, the only 3-year-old in the race, ran respectably in Listed company back at Down Royal last week and is another to consider along with Sligo maiden winner Sionnach Eile who lacks experience but could be on a nice mark. Bolivar, second in Listed company last year, has plenty of weight and would prefer softer ground but can’t be ruled out.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards that have run three or more times under any Rules of Racing on or before 19th July, 2021, at least one of those runs having been over a distance of nine furlongs or more on or after 1st July, 2020 (105 = 10st)Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 6lbsPenalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
