FormscanBy Michael Graham - There is no doubt that Gaelic Warrior could be absolutely chucked in off a mark of 129. His placed form in France is outstanding as the horses in front of him have gone on to score at Listed, Grade 3 and Grade 2 company. He is clearly a major player but odds of 9/4 at the time of writing are swerved in a race where big-priced winners are far from unusual. He is in the best of hands and is out to improve Willie Mullins' record in this race (zero from 16). Joseph O'Brien landed this race in 2019 and has an each-way chance with CHAMPION GREEN. This former Flat winner put it all together on his last start over hurdles at Naas in a new combination of a hood and tongue-strap. If he settles again in the same combination, his Flat speed (rated 90 in that sphere) could be a more than useful asset. Another Irish raider, Hms Seahorse, has had his Fairyhouse victory in February franked. He was beaten a fair way into third at Punchestown at the end of last year, however, that is excellent form as the horses that beat him have subsequently won at Grade One and Grade 2 level. Ross O'Sullivan's Sea Sessions is one at a bigger price to scrutinise.
