FormscanBy Mark Nunan - COSMIC VEGA wants it soft and has a handicap in him. A debut winner on heavy as a juvenile, he was second at a big price at Roscommon in May and his Galway festival fourth was probably better form. The mile just stretched him at Ballybrit and this looks his trip. Carlton Banks is a lurker towards the foot of the weights. He’s been waiting for soft ground and is now 8lb lower than when catching the eye at this venue back in March. It’s interesting that Colin Keane, who partnered him when he disappointed on quick ground on a return visit to Naas, wants to ride him. Dunum goes for a five-timer and there is nothing to dislike about his chance bar another 6lb hike for winning over this trip at Galway. Yermanthere ran well over 6f in a premier handicap last time and will be suited by the extra furlong. Mary Salome has had an excellent season and travelled strongly when winning at Listowel on Tuesday.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards (90 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
