The odds-on winner of the first split, Castle Town House was lucky, but in division two of the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle there was nothing fortunate about the success of another hot-pot, Lifetime Ambition (8/13) at Limerick.

Jessica Harrington ’s favourite stylishly beat second market choice Champagne Sparkles by seven and a half lengths.

Frustrating to follow up until now, the successful Kapgarde gelding was a point-to-point winner in 2019 and he understandably pleased the man aboard today, Robbie Power.

He reported: “It is job done this season to win a maiden hurdle with him; he might win a little winners' hurdle between now and the end of the season but I'm really looking forward to him going chasing next season.

"It is a big surprise he hasn't won a maiden before now but he bumped into a few good horses.

"He has loads of scope, you could see that jumping the last two hurdles, and I think when he goes jumping a fence you'll see huge improvement in him."

Mr W.T. Cronin, rider of Cahirmee trained by Brian O'Keeffe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a noise in running.
