Kilderry Prince caused a 25/1 upset when gaining a third career win in the Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Handicap Chase at Tipperary today, scoring for trainer Andrew McNamara and jockey Darragh O'Keeffe.

The point-to-point winning 12 year old old son of Marignan was last successful at Tramore on new year's day 2019 and today benefitted from a ground-saving ride from in-form O'Keeffe, who was registering his sixth winner since lockdown ended.

Afterwards the winning trainer's son Robbie McNamara stated “he travelled and jumped and he (Darragh O'Keeffe) said he was brilliant the whole way. He had a good run the last day at Kilbeggan and it was nice he stepped forward from it.

“He has had some back trouble in the past but is straightforward and honest and there are plenty handicap chases coming up for him.

“It's a nice tonic for dad who had a setback two months ago.”
