The consistent Run With The Wind took the Dawn Omega Milk Novice Hurdle for trainer Michael Hourigan with Adrian Heskin the saddle.

The 6yo son of Sadler's Wells lost his maiden tag over hurdles last time out at Ballinrobe in May and he followed up this afternoon.

He chased the leaders for much of the race before taking closer order from the fourth last hurdle.

He travelled well approaching the next and soon came with his challenge before hitting the front two flights from home.

He stayed on well on the run-in to score comfortably by three and a quarter lengths from Thomas Edison in second under Mark Walsh for Tony Martin. Top Madam completed the placings fourteen lengths back in third at 5/1 under Davy Condon for trainer Donal Coffey.

The market spoke favourably for the winner who was backed from 5/2 into 15/8 at the off while the favourite Thomas Edison drifted from 4/5 out to 11/10.

Winning trainer Michael Hourigan said afterwards: "He is entered in the Galway Hurdle but he mightn't get into it. He could go for the winners of two there instead or the amateur handicap.

"I was originally going to run him in the previous race here, the 2m 1f handicap on the flat but I was afraid he would be struck into so I decided to run him in this race."

The winner remains unchanged at 20/1 for the Galway Hurdle with bookmaker Stan James.
