Trainer John Ryan is riding high this season but admits a win in the Kerry National at Listowel on Wednesday would be a special achievement.

The Templemore handler saddled a remarkable four-timer at Sligo last week and his team have been in flying form over the summer.

He has two engaged in the feature event of the Harvest Festival this week and Fairyhill Run is currently towards the head of the market for the three-mile handicap chase.

The Mahler filly will be bidding to rack up her fourth win on the bounce and is set to be joined in the field by stable-mate Waitnsee.

When asked by journalist Dave Keena what a win in the big race at Listowel would mean to him the in-form trainer said:-

“It would mean the world to me.

“I've had great winners there before, Kylecrue won four times at the festival for me, Presenting Mahler won twice and Draycott Place also won at the track.

“We've had loads to success there and it's a part of the country that's very dear to my heart so to go there and win the Kerry National would be wonderful.”
