Keep The Peace surprised most when winning the second division of the Happy Christmas From Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle at that racecourse today at odds of 18/1 (from 10s), for trainer Gavin Cromwell and under jockey Jonathan Moore.

The daughter of Mahler carried lifetime form-figures of '00P0-7' into today's race and while beaten 26L on her previous handicap run, today scored in first-time cheek-pieces when beating Happie Days by a length and three parts.

Cromwell's assistant trainer Feidhlim Cunningham later stated “it was the weaker of the two divides. She had shown a little bit more the last day and we put the cheek pieces on her today and they seemed to work a treat. She travelled better for Johnny (Moore).

“There might be something small for her in Limerick at Christmas but it’s great to get that anyway.”
