Gordon Elliott enjoyed a fine day yesterday with five winners but struck at Leopardstown for the first time this Christmas when Tycoon Prince landed the beginners chase on today's card.

The Gigginstown gelding has chased home Al Boum Photo on his first outing over fences at Navan last month.

Davy Russell produced the 3/1 shot to claim Le Martalin passing the omitted final fence and he stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post a six-and-a-half length winning margin.

6/4 favourite Bunk Off Early won the tussle for the runner-up spot.

The winner was a three-time winner in bumpers and was placed in Grade 2 company last term.

“He was a good bumper horse. He had a nice run at Navan the last day and we knew he'd come on a good bit from it,” said Elliott.

“It's nice to get a winner here. We were having them everywhere else but if you don't get them here you get forgotten about!

“We'll keep him small and try and find a winners race for him, then see where we go from there.”

Russell added:- "He's a big raw horse and it's a credit to Gordon and all his team to get him back in this form.

"Chasing was always going to be his game and he took to it well in Navan where he was beaten by a very nice horse. He came on from that run which was lovely."
